The 24th Fishers Freedom Festival announces its “2012 Schedule of Events” which offers fireworks, 5K event, live music, UFO Major Run Disc Dog Tournament, children & teen tents, corn hole tournament, scuba diving, dunk tank, two parades, climbing wall, water balloon launch, teen dance, street dance and more all on Saturday, June 23 and Sunday, June 24.  With over 50,000 attendees from all over the U.S., this free family event hosts hundreds of art & craft sites, business booths, food vendors, and free games booths.  A wide range of events and activities will occur throughout the entire weekend and most events are held rain or shine.

Located at Roy G. Holland Park (One Park Drive) in Fishers, the Festival begins Saturday, June 23rd at 6:30 A.M. with the 5K event registration and run beginning at 8 A.M.  The free Kiddie Run starts at 9:15 A.M. which is open to children nine years old and younger with mascots Incredi-Plex’s “Lil’ Kickers,” “Hink” the Butler Bulldog, Aaron’s “Lucky Dog,” and the Fishers High School’s Tiger mascot.  Opening Ceremonies start at 10 A.M. and includes the announcement of the “William D. Kehl Jr. Volunteer of the Year” award winner and the crowning of the “Aaron’s Royal Court.”  The Indiana Blood Center’s blood drive starts at 12:30 P.M.  Saturday will wrap up with DJ and Dancing with Kal and Radio Now 100.9 in the Teen Tent at 6 P.M. and the Street Dance featuring the band “Whiskey Biscuits ” at 6:30 P.M.

The festival continues on Sunday, June 24th at 7:30 A.M. with the Indy Disc Dog Classic registration and the nondenominational church service at 8:00 A.M.  The Children’s Parade for all kids to participate for free will begin at 10:00 A.M, the Main Parade will be at 4:00 P.M., tethered hot air balloon rides at 6 P.M., live music by “Big Daddy Caddy” band at 6:30 P.M. and the fireworks occur at dusk.

The Business Tent is open from Saturday from 10 A.M. to 4 P.M. and again on Sunday with just free games for the kids from 10 A.M. to 2:30 P.M.  Arts & Crafts vendors are open at 9 A.M. to 8 P.M. on Saturday and 10 A.M. to 8 P.M. on Sunday.  Food vendors open at 9 A.M. on both days.

In the Entertainment Tent, some of the many featured Saturday events include Master Yoo’s Tae Kwon Do Demonstration at 11:45 A.M., the Hamilton County Law Enforcement K-9 demonstration at 12:15 P.M., Indiana Starfire Cloggers at 1 P.M., and Jai Baker at 6 P.M.  On Sunday, the Entertainment Tent will have the Follow and Feel Band at 12 P.M., guitarist Alex Nelson at 1 P.M., and G. Scotten Talent at 1:30 P.M.  This year’s Bake Off item is hors d’ouerves.  Bring your item on Sunday at 12:30 P.M. and judging will occur at 1 P.M.

Also occurring both days are the silent auction, kids entertainment area, the Children’s Tent, bungee trampoline, scuba diving, water balloon launch game, food drive, food vendors, and still so much more.
