The ninth annual “Fishers Oktoberfest at Saxony” on Saturday, September 27th from noon to 10pm. This family-styled event will be held at Witten Park (13257 Saxony Blvd) at 131st Street and Olio and admission is free. Oktoberfest will have German food as well as other favorites like hot dogs, hamburgers, elephant ears, funnel cakes, cheese fries and more for the entire event. Favorites include bratwursts, knautwursts, sauerkrauts, German potato salad and German chocolate cake.

New this year will be a “Best Dressed German Outfit” contest for the public beginning at 6:30pm at the Entertainment Tent. There will be prizes for the winners.

Even though this is a free event, please consider bringing a canned good or new toy to be donated to several local food pantries in Fishers. They support residents-in-need throughout the entire year, especially during Thanksgiving and Christmas time.

Oktoberfest 2011.11 PeopleArts and crafts vendors will be there from 12pm to 7pm. Free kids games and activities will also be from noon to 4pm. The food vendors, live music, and beer garden will be open the entire event from noon to 10pm. The American German Club will have a cultural booth noon to 4PM and the American German Club dancers will perform from 3:00PM until 3:30PM

Free live entertainment on the main stage will include Polkamotion from 12pm to 3pm, Big Daddy Caddy from 3:30pm to 6:30pm and finishing up with My Yellow Rickshaw from 7pm to 10pm.

The beer garden will be open the entire event and you must be 21 years old or older to enter. Purchase $5 tokens to acquire a beer or wine. Maximum of two drinks can be purchased at a time. All beer is on tap that includes Warsteiner Dunkel, Leinenkugel Oktoberfest, and Coors Light. Coolers and outside alcohol are NOT permitted and is a violation of the law.Kym G. in Oktoberfest outfit

The mission of the Fishers Freedom Festival is to encourage fellowship through civic partnerships and citizen involvement by creating a safe environment, developing needed community services, promoting family integrity and striving to improve the quality of life for every resident by investing in human potential.
