Oktoberfest 2011.02 BandThe eighth annual “Fishers Oktoberfest at Saxony” will be this Saturday, September 28th from noon to 10pm.  This family-styled event will be held at Witten Park (13257 Saxony Blvd) at 131st Street and Olio and admission is free.  This event is hosted by Saxony, Leinenkugel’s Oktoberfest, and the Fishers Freedom Festival.

Recently added to the line-up is the Indianapolis Colts in Motion from 12pm to 2pm and a tethered hot air balloon ride for $10 each from 5:30pm to 7:00pm.  Also joining will be the Indiana Pacer Fan Van, Indiana Fever players, and Freddie Fever from 1pm to 3:30pm.

Oktoberfest will have German food as well as other favorites like hot dogs, hamburgers, elephant ears, funnel cakes, cheese fries, and more for the entire event.  Favorites include bratwursts, knautwursts, sauerkrauts, German potato salad, and German chocolate cake.

Arts and crafts vendors will be there from 12pm to 6pm and food vendors and beer garden will be open all day.  Free kids games and activities will also be from noon to 6pm.  The food vendors, live music, and beer garden will be open the entire event from noon to 10pm.

Free live entertainment on the main stage will include Polkamotion from 12pm to 3pm, Wishes Dance Studio from 3:00pm to 3:30pm, Stella Luna and the Satellites from 3:30pm to 6:30pm, and finishing up with Big Daddy Caddy from 7pm to 10pm.

Oktoberfest 2011.03 FoodThe beer garden will be open the entire event and you must be 21 years old or older to enter.  Purchase tokens to acquire beer and a maximum of two beers can be purchased at a time.  Domestic beers are $4 and Import beers are $5.  All beer is on tap that includes Warsteiner, Leinenkugel, and Coors Light.  Coolers and outside alcohol are NOT permitted and is a violation of the law.

Even though this is a free event, please consider bringing a canned good or new toy to be donated to the Good Samaritan Network of Hamilton County.  They support residents-in-need throughout the entire year, especially during Thanksgiving and Christmas time.
