Children’s Parade

The Fishers Freedom Festival will once again be having a Children’s Parade and this year’s sponsor is Riley Hospital for Children at Clarian North. The theme for the 2010 Festival and Parade is “Where Family and Fun Unite”. Riley Hospital for Children at Clarian North Children’s Parade is an opportunity for the youth of the Fishers community to experiment with their artistic and creative abilities in celebration of our nation’s freedom. Approximately 350 children participated in last year’s parade while hundreds of family and friends watched and cheered. Parents are welcome to participate with their child in the parade to promote fun for the entire family.
This year’s parade will be on Sunday, June 27th. The line up and judging for the parade will begin at 9am– 9:30am the parade will start promptly at 10am. The parade will be organized into three categories and will line up accordingly beginning with bicycles, followed by tricycles/Big Wheels and finally strollers/wagons at the end. Motorized cycles and scooters are not permitted in the parade. Trophies for the first and second place in each category will be awarded for the “best decorated” at the conclusion of the parade. Every child will receive a goodie bag at the finish line for their participation in the parade. Children participating in the Children’s Parade will need to be dropped off at Sunblest Boulevard on the east-side of the park at Ellipse Parkway and walk to the starting position at Holland and Ellipse Parkway. Parents please DO NOT drop off your child at Holland Drive and Ellipse Parkway. The parade route will follow Ellipse Parkway and will go around the park and will conclude at the starting point intersection at Ellipse Parkway and Holland Drive. Parents can pick up their child just south of this intersection at the conclusion of the parade, but must not stop and/or block the intersection with vehicles. There will be no parking on Sunday around Ellipse Parkway or along the Main Parade Route.
