Saturday’s event is the UFO Major by the U.F.O. World Cup Series of disc dog competitions.  As one of the largest events of its kind, many of the best teams from all over North America come to compete for U.F.O. World Cup Points in hopes to qualify for the world finals October 21,22,and 23 in Dallas, Texas.  There are six other U.F.O. Majors in the United States (Los Angeles, Houston, Chicago, Jacksonville, Denver, and Killington,Vermont) and two more internationally in Holland, and Germany.

With current and former world champions competing, dog and handler teams compete in two events in the Open Division on field one. The Throw and Catch event gives each team 60 seconds to get as many throws and catches as they can.  A longer throw scores more points.  The Freestyle event is a crowd favorite.  Each team has prepared a two minute routine played to rock-n-roll specifically designed to get the crowd cheering and clapping.  You’ve seen them on T.V. and will see lots of trick throws and spectacular canine acrobatics that will leave you breathless.

Novice dog and handler teams, including first time players, compete in one event in the Novice Division. The event is Throw and Catch and medals are awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.

Fees:
$15 Open (Pro) Throw n Catch, Open (Pro) Freestyle (you must enter both to be eligible for World Cup Points).
$10 Intermediate (Throw n Catch only), Novice (Throw n Catch only)

Day two is the Indiana State Championships. There is Pro, Intermediate, Novice (where first timers are encouraged to enter), and Juniors Division. State Champions will be crowned for Pro Freestyle, Pro Toss n Catch, Men’s Pro Long Distance, and Women’s Pro Long Distance. Long Distance competition is on field two in the afternoon.  Each team gets three throws to see how far they can throw the flying disc and get a catch with the longest catch winning.

$10 Intermediate Freestyle, Intermediate Throw n Catch, Novice Freestyle, Novice Throw n Catch,
