To assist the Hamilton County Good Samaritan Program with their “Holiday Project” this year, both Fishers Freedom Festival and Fishers Town Hall will be drop-off locations for donations.  These items will benefit thousands of Hamilton County children, both boys and girls, up to the age of 12 years old who would not receive food or presents for the holidays without your help.

Last year, the Hamilton County Good Samaritan Program fed over 9,000 individuals for Thanksgiving and over 14,000 individuals for the December holiday season thanks to countless donations from the community.  They need your assistance again.

Please consider donating the following items for all ages and sizes:  puzzles, games, playing cards, dolls, doll beds, doll highchairs, doll accessories, stuffed toys, Fisher Price toys, building blocks, building logs, Tinker Toys, Lego blocks, toy trucks, toy cars, balls (any size or kind like football, basketball, soccer, baseball, Nerf balls, etc.), squirt guns, jumping ropes, ball and jacks, stocking stuffers, hair bows, hair clips, headbands, mittens, gloves, toboggans, ear muffs, socks pajamas, doll dishes, pans, and play food.

Most of these families-in-need have children on subsidized lunch programs at school.  When those children are home for extended periods of time over the holidays, it is financially challenging.  Therefore, they are also seeking non-perishable items to be donated, such as the following:  soups, canned meals for children, cereal, Jell-O, puddings, snacks, Kool-Aid, popcorn, paper towels, Kleenex, cleaning supplies, and paper product (plates, napkins, toilet paper).

Items may be dropped off Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. until December 8th at the Fishers Freedom Festival’s office located at 8601 E. 116th Street which is directly behind the Fritz in Fishers car dealership.  There is a large drop box outside the office for donating items after hours.

Also, Fishers Town Hall is a drop-off location at One Municipal Drive.  They are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  There is a special barrel for all donations located on the first floor near the Clerk-Treasurer’s Office.

Hamilton County Good Samaritan will also be holding drop-off times for donations at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds in Noblesville on December 9 from 4 p.m. – 10 p.m., December 10 & 11 from 10 a.m. – 10 p.m., and December 13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Monetary donations will also be accepted.  Checks can be made payable to Hamilton County Good Samaritan Program.
