The 22nd Fishers Freedom Festival announces its “2010 Schedule of Events” which offers fireworks, 5K event, live music, UFO Major Run Disc Dog Tournament, children & teen tents, corn hole tournament, scuba diving, dunk tank, two parades, basketball shoot, climbing wall, water balloon launch, teen dance, street dance and more all on Saturday, June 26 and Sunday, June 27.  With over 60,000 attendees from all over the U.S., this free family event hosts hundreds of art & craft sites, business booths, food vendors, and free games booths. 

A wide range of events and activities will occur throughout the entire weekend and most events are held rain or shine.  Located at Roy G. Holland Park (One Park Drive) in Fishers, the Festival begins Saturday, June 26th at 6:15 A.M. with the 5K event registration and run beginning at 8 A.M.  The free Kiddie Run at 9 A.M. is open to children nine years old and younger with mascots Snapperz, Lil’ Kickers, “Hink” the Butler Bulldog, Fishers High School’s Tiger mascot, and Indy Fit Buddy to mingle with the kids.  Opening Ceremonies start at 10 A.M. and includes the announcement of the “William D. Kehl Jr. Volunteer of the Year” award winner.  Saturday will wrap up with the Street Dance featuring the band “Why Stop Now” at 7 P.M. and the Teen Dance at 8 P.M.
 
The festival continues on Sunday, June 27th at 8:00 A.M. with the Indy Disc Dog Classic registration and the nondenominational church service at 8:30 A.M.  The Children’s Parade for all kids to participate for free will begin at 10:00 A.M, the Main Parade will be at 4:00 P.M., live music by “Big Daddy Caddy” band at 6:30 P.M. and the fireworks occur at dusk. 

The Business Tent is open from Saturday from 10 A.M. to 4 P.M. and again on Sunday with just free games for the kids from 10 A.M. to 2:30 P.M.  Arts & Crafts vendors are open at 9 A.M. on Saturday and 10 A.M. on Sunday.  Food vendors open at 10 A.M. on both days.

In the Entertainment Tent, some of their featured events on Saturday include Mik the Music Man kids concert at 10:45 A.M., the Hamilton County Law Enforcement K-9 demonstration at 11:30 A.M., Circle City Chorus Barbershop Group at 3 P.M., Adult Bingo at 4 P.M. and Tommy Wills Jazz and Blues at 5 P.M.  This year’s Bake Off item is homemade bar cookies and judging will occur at 5:30 P.M.  On Sunday, the Entertainment Tent will have the Jai Baker Band at 10:45 A.M., 4 Leaf Cloggers Group at 12:30 P.M., G. Scotten Talent at 1:00 P.M., M.C. Axe and the Firecrew at 2:00 P.M. 

Also occurring both days are the kids entertainment area, the Indiana Blood Center’s Blood Drive, “Where the Music Is” teen area with live teen bands, the children’s tent with face painting and arts/crafts, and still so much more.
