Come participate as a runner, jogger or walker in the 24th annual Fishers Freedom Festival’s 5K Event on Saturday, June 23rd at Roy G. Holland Park (One Park Drive) in Fishers.  The 5K event will begin promptly at 8 a.m.  A non-competitive family fun two-mile walk will begin at 8:05 a.m. and a Kiddie Run at 9:15 a.m.  Awards will be presented following the 5K event race at 8:55 a.m. near the finish area in Holland Park.

Last year’s event attracted a crowd of nearly 1,300 participants.  Runners will take a scenic route through a Fishers neighborhood accompanied with water stations that are sponsored by Hinckley Springs, Indianapolis.  Wheelchair participants are welcomed.  No pets, bikes or roller blades in the 5K event, please.

With Allisonville Meadows as its title sponsor, the fourth annual “Kiddie Run” for children ages nine and under will begin at 9:15 a.m. on the Holland Park baseball field next to the 5K registration tent.  There is no charge to participate and all children will receive a special commemorative prize.  The onsite registration will be at the baseball field beginning at 8:45 a.m. Co-partners of this event are Don Hinds Ford, Incredi-Plex, Rainbow Child Care Center, North Magazine, K-Love Radio Station, and Brian Balance Achievement Center

Bring your cameras because local mascots such as “Hink” the Butler Bulldog, Aaron’s “Lucky Dog,” “Lil Kickers” bunny from Incredi-Plex and the Fishers High School Tiger will be at the Kiddie Run to encourage the children and pose for free photographs.  All 5K and family fun event participants are encouraged to cheer on the children as the 5K participants wait for their race results.  All children must be accompanied by their parent and sign a release onsite for the Kiddie Run.

Online registration for the 5K event is available and encouraged until Tuesday, June 19th by clicking here.  For those pre-registering online, the cost is $10 per person (ages 13 and up) and $5.00 per person (ages 12 and under)for the 5K event, and includes a festival bandana and event timing chip.  For the family walk, the pre-registration online cost is $8.00 per person (ages 13 and up).  There is no charge for the family walk for those ages 12 and under.  Bandanas are included for all participants in the 2 mile family walk.  Participants may pay by credit card online.

Late registration and early packet pick-up for pre-registered participants will be available on Thursday, June 21st and Friday, June 22nd from 4:30 – 7 p.m. at the Fishers Town Hall Auditorium, 1 Municipal Drive (next to the Train Station). Participants are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to avoid waiting in lines on race day.  Registration will be available the day of the race from 6:45 a.m. – 7:45 a.m. near Sunblest Boulevard and Ellipse Parkway on the west side of Holland Park.  Late Registration (after 19 June) costs go up to $15 per person (ages 13 and over), $5.00 per person (ages 12 and under) for the 5K event.  The 2-mile family walk costs increase to $10.00 per person (ages 13 and over).  There is no charge for the family walk for those ages 12 and under. Registration fees may be paid by cash or check.

Residents who live along the 5K route are encouraged to have hoses and water available.  All funds raised go to the Roy Holland Memorial Scholarship Fund and the Roy Holland Backpack for Kids program.  A pep band comprised of Hamilton Southeastern High School and Fishers High School will be present.
