The Fishers Freedom Festival proudly announces the winners of the 2011 T-Shirt design contest.  Karinna Ellis from New Britton Elementary School will have her design on the front of the Festival T-Shirt.  Caitlin Marie Scholl from Hamilton Southeastern Junior High School will have her design appear on the back of the Festival T-Shirt.  These winners will receive a free festival T-Shirt bearing their design, a trophy, and will be featured in the Sunday, June 26th main parade.
Applicants were required to be Hamilton Southeastern school district students submitting designs for either the elementary (K – 4th grade) or intermediate/junior high school (5th grade – 8th grade) categories.  Submitted designs had to include this year’s festival theme “Honoring Our Hometown Heroes,” the title “2011 Fishers Freedom Festival,” and a maximum four colors.  No computer drawings were allowed.  All designs depict a patriotic theme.
A selection committee sorted through approximately 2,200 entries submitted by March 1st and looked for creativeness and color selection.  All designs also had to be easily reproduced into a T-Shirt.

Fall Creek Intermediate was the school with the most submitted entries of 799 and will receive a total of $500 ($250 from the Fishers Arts Council and $250 from the Fishers Freedom Festival) for art supplies and a plaque for their efforts.

The Festival T-Shirt will be available for purchase during the Fishers Freedom Festival, in the Fishers Freedom Festival Office (8591 East 116th Street).  All sizes are $10.  Proceeds benefit future Fishers Freedom Festivals.
