The Fishers Freedom Festival is partnering with Fishers Parks and Recreation to bring you an all-new Children’s Parade on Tuesday, June 28at the Nickel Plate District in conjunction with the Tuesday night summer concert series.
Concert Series. Kids ages 12 and under are encouraged to show their patriotism by decorating entries in our free Children’s Parade, featuring the City of Fishers Police and Fire golf carts and the Royal Court float. All are welcome to join in the fun and dress in their red, white & blues for this year’s theme “Celebrating Indiana’s Bicentennial.”
Parents should plan on arriving early to locate parking in the Nickel Plate District and then look for signs directing them to the parade staging area. Participants, accompanied by a parent or guardian who completes a register form and signs a release, will receive a ribbon and entry number for the parade.
Participants line up in three divisions, beginning with bicycles, followed by tricycles/big wheels, then strollers/wagons. Motorized cycles, scooters, skateboards and roller blades are not permitted. Decorations must be attached firmly and not interfere with safe operation of the vehicle. Costumes must be appropriate for a family atmosphere and should not interfere with rider’s vision. Bicycle helmets are encouraged. After the parade, each child will receive a goodie bag, and medals will be awarded to first, second and third place entries in each division, as well as an overall winner. Judges will look for creativity, originality, patriotic spirit and best use of theme. Photographs will be taken of the winners.
